Why consider Canada as a study abroad destination?

One area that you can readily see care and investment is the education system in Canadian public schools.

  • The public school system, from kindergarten to secondary (high school), enjoys facilities that allow students to study with the support they need to succeed with any choice of study or challenge they may face.
  • Studying at a public school in Canada is very competitively priced. The prices range from 13,000 CAD to 17,000 CAD.

  • Schools have highly trained and educated teachers as well as a full support team to assist in the learning and development of students. ESL support teacher and an education assistant are often present in the classroom to attend to students with special needs and who need more language support. Schools also have admin staff, librarians, nursing and counselors available to make sure students are supported outside the classroom.
  • The resources, buildings and learning environment of the Canadian public school system rivals any private school system in any country.

For added consideration there are many top class boarding schools in the country. We are happy to provide guidance and include these options in the list of your study plan choices.

If you are at the stage of considering post-secondary education, Canada offers both private and public colleges and universities. The difference being public institutions receive government funding while private institutions rely on revenue from tuition and sources other than government. All post-secondary institutions in Canada offer valuable education and development experience.

No less important is to ask yourselves of the goals and reasons for your child to study abroad. Different long-term goals lead to different solutions. At any decision step we are happy to guide you and we have a team of professionals to help.

You may like to verify your future plans with a career coach or a certified immigration consultant. We are here to provide the full spectrum support.

Finally, it is paramount importance to question yourselves on how prepared your child is to fully access the study abroad (outgoing, open-minded, has previous travel and independent abroad experience).

And it is okay to doubt and you may also consider travelling together. For parents who come with their children we also have family support services.

Once the decision has been made it is time to develop your personal STUDY PLAN.

What exactly do study care coordinators do:

  • Meet upon arrival and make sure the host family and child met and are comfortable and all initial questions are sorted.
  • Help with any primary questions (open a bank account, get a local sim-card, ensuring all is clear and good contact is established and all set with the homestay and that the child and the homestay are set for a fantastic experience together).
  • Continuous communication with the parent and regular reports home about student’s wellbeing, academic progress, social life and activities.
  • Support for any questions at school, host family or any other that may arise.
  • Timely support and care with any health issues.
  • Support with studies, including academic plan, progress control, ensuring school attendance and after school programs participation.
  • Student and parent consulting on monthly budgeting and finance optimization (especially recommended for junior college or university students).
  • Advice and help with planning after-school activities or participation in any community activities that will enrich the Canada stay experience. Involves monitoring what activities are offered for the age group within academic institution, local libraries and community centre with suggestions for the student.
  • With the approval of the parent we can help student find the local community speaking their home language as well help the student find the local faith centre.
  • We can help to arrange a birthday celebration for your child.
  • Regular personal meetings with the student (up to once a month during first three months and then bimonthly meeting the rest of the year). After each meeting a report will be sent to the parents. Reports include health and general well-being information, academic progress and social life of the student, and any other matters that may be optional for each student.
  • For more independent and mature students

Student care and assistance may still be a good idea for a first few weeks before the student is fully set in Canada. We can help sort primary daily tasks quickly and in a most efficient way. This could include assistance in opening a banking account and getting local sim card, advice on how to shop on a budget or the like questions. Support while the student is adapting and integrating into the community is also available to students already studying in Canada and is often needed and asked by current international students.
